JUST IN:FG RELEASES N15.89 BILLION NAIRA TO ASUU TO CALL OFF THE LINGERING STRIKE





   Academic Staff Union Universities (ASUU) and  Federal Government (FG) reveals fervent indication that the on going strike will be terminated soon base on facts that FG releases N15.89billion to ASUU for shortfall salaries payment to universities staffs.

Federal Government on their effort also set aside N20billion as revitalisation funds for varsities. Direction has been given to National Universities Commission( NUC) to sort out methods of allocating the funds in reaching all universities.

Plans has been put in  place for setting up the demand of Nigerian Universities Pension Management Company(NUPEMCO), the government has directed the National Pension Commission (NUPEMCO) to issue a licence for the company’s take-off in due time.

Ngige further voice out that,  FG go a long way of considering the demands of ASUU substantially.

According to him,“ he along side other delegates with be meeting with ASUU leaders on Monday where all steps taken by the government will be tabled before them.

He mentioned that officials from the Ministry of Budget and National Planning will be at the next meeting with ASUU leadership where they will be briefed on facts and figures.

“We are hopeful that the actions taken by the government will be acceptable to ASUU for our schools to reopen.”

However, optimism is perceive for the out come of the meeting as demands of lectures is substantially reach by the FG for the strike to end within this January, 2019.
